Varkies Valiant - ‘Rascal’ really has it all - super conformation, lovely paces, impressive breeding and fantastic temperament. He was 28.5” as a two year old (has yet to be measured this year, bay in colour, a very strong little lad, very mature for his age, who is going to be as solid as his sire, Cramar Hartington, who has very impressive bone. He really does take after his sire in looks and personality, but takes his temperament from his dam, who is very affectionate & adores people. He is incredibly well bred, with Cramar, Firth, Kerswell, South Sands, Vorden & Fairy all in the last four generations - most of them in the last 2 generations. Rascal passed his stallion license vetting as a two year old, and was entered into the 2007 studbook as a fully licensed stallion. In 2008, we made the decision to geld him, to allow us to retain both him & his sire who is now our stud stallion. Next year as a four year old, he will hopefully be shown at county/affiliated level, and we expect him to do very well. His photos don't do him justice (winter coats/poor weather/terrible photography by us!) - he is very much more impressive in the flesh, and a favourite with most visitors to the stud.
